New Topiccs Not Showing Up For Me

Post by Tony Bones »

This is weird. When I visit the main TAG page it shows there is new content in some of the subforums:

But when I enter the forum, the newest content available is from September 27:

I have the display options at the bottom of the page set to show all topics and sort by date (descending.)
I tried clearing all forum cookies.
I'm running at recent version of Firefox (62.0,3) on Win7 if it makes a difference.

Interestingly, if someone posts an answer in this thread, I might not be able to see it. Please PM me if there's something I need to do.

There are ten sticky topics in the "Technical Discussion" forum and they will always be at the top of the topics list. The new topics will always show up below these sticky topics so just scroll down a bit. For the example you circled the Reactive Load topic is currently the eleventh topic in the list at this exact moment in time.

Wow. Getting older and stupider by the minute, but this really sets a new standard for stupid (and embarrassed)!

I'd try to delete this thread, but maybe we should leave it up as a reminder that no matter how dumb we might feel some days, there's always someone dumber. Glad that I can contribute!

It's not stupidity, it's lack of familiarity. It also indicates we may need to rethink having so many stickies :D Instead of a sticky for everything under the sun, the top few most important stickies could stay there that are not 'like others' and then create a single sticky to bundle things together or something similar.

Input welcome on that idea

I'm used to the stickies on every forum I visit, so not bothered by them...

For THIS forum (TAG), I bookmark this URL:

https://ampgarage.com/forum/search.php? ... nreadposts

and this shows a list of unread posts. Very convenient.

I appreciate the moral support, but I'm not new to stickies. It was just a monumentally silly mistake on my part.

The unread posts page is the right idea. It's more useful the more often you visit a particular forum. For some reason I don't make it here often enough for the unread posts page to be useful, but the cure for that is obvious. :D
