That's a nice working area! Is your blues master actually used to lay down some tracks?

it was going to but we ran over time and I had to go to another studio. Mark wanted me to leave it but I said no! I don't think he's used to people saying no to him :D

If we can sync schedules then I'll arrange to go back and have a proper day of just amp testing rather than in a full on session week.

It sounded great through the vintage 4x12 with his #001 strat though :D

really, wow. It came through a third party. He'll be happy to know it's making great music.

Interestingly Mark had it refretted with jumbo frets. He told me that the guy doing the job didn't know who he was doing it for and that Mark didn't know the identity of the Luthier either. He said he did it one fret at a time and had a game of snooker between each one :D

Wow.

That's all I can think of - is just "WOW".

An amazing experience, I'm sure. But then, you must have had a few of those.

VERY, very cool.

That is very cool that he wanted you to leave your amp there!

I like the blue suede tolex you used. I think I'd want to use something like that on a future build.
Thanks for posting.

Cheers

Guy,

It's real suede. It's pig suede actually which is slightly different from cow suede.

I spoke to Mark yesterday and we're trying to organise a morning of amp testing. It's funny, I was impressed with his Komet, Linda, he's not used it for a while. It was the first boutique amp I remember making an impression on me when Ken built that for him so I pleased to see he's now gone back to them. It got me thinking about building one.

Marcus, it is so cool to hear these tales and to hear of your amp's growing legend! Seeing the guitars and getting a whiff of the whole thing is so cool. Thanks so much or sharing!
