I made a tweedle deluxe
I like it pretty well. running it into a Sealed 2 12 cab. it cleans up awesome with the guitar volume knob. Just a prototype might build a real one.

Cbass you return my 75 chevy running boards right now!
Damn hard getting components on top of the chassis milled down to the surface with that type of chassis.
At least your having fun.

Well Mark at least it's a Chevy. Yeah the chassis material definitely makes a challenge got to make sure your holes are in the right place.
I really like it a lot better than the brown Deluxe and I had built in the same chassis. Totally different circuit I know but I like this one better.
My PT runs a little cool I'm getting about 375 volts with a diode rectifier but that made my black plates sylvania's get a pretty little red stripe down the middle of the plate.
I don't have a gz34 so I'm using the copper cap and getting about 355 vds on the plates. I bet it gz34 will make it run just hot enough not to red plate.
I've got some real tung-sol 6v6s that have larger plates I think they may be 14 watt tubes but I can't find them.
Haven't messed with preamp tubes yet but I have some RCA's that you fit the bill.
OT is a vintage Schumacher.

Can anyone fill me in on what I'm supposed to be looking/listening for when adjusting the pot in the pi section?

Re: I made a tweedle deluxe
From what I understood, to set it, you need either a scope with two inputs and either balance them perfectly to output the same signal with an input sine wave, or use two dmms to read the ac voltage there and set them identically, or intentionally set the imbalanced to optimize the second other harmonic. That may require a fft analysis.
I just balanced mine perfectly with the scope.

Re: I made a tweedle deluxe
i used a.regular pot cause thats all i had and its not easy to get at when the amp is on.sure wish i had cut a slot in the shaft for a screwdriver
Re: I made a tweedle deluxe
I got no scopes. I just start at 6 volts difference and tune by ear after. Nice sounding circuit. Isn't that A Treadle Dee?
