Lance, he cracks me up. He recently fucked up on a shipment through Fedex of a Vashcenko Flying V Clone. He said Fedex left it in the lobby of the apartment of the buyer. After doing Fedex for 19 years, I know they don't leave shipments worth less than $500 anywhere, unless it wasn't insured.

Lance wouldn't own up. I bitch slapped him on FB, TGP and elsewhere for lying.

He said he insured it.

No, you didn't Lance, cuz if you did, you wouldn't be pleading with people to look for it.

Long story short, Lance thinks he never makes a mistake, and everyone else does. Yeah, right.

Luckily for him someone turned the box in to Fedex and it got delivered...3 weeks later.

Of course, Lance has now blocked me from his FB feed, TGP posts and God knows what else.

Hi Lance! You shouldn't have sent those three PMs on FB, pal!

Nope, it's not. I met him in 2006 at the LA Amp Show. He was a legend in his own mind then, and nothing has changed. As for his long string of "partnerships"...well, that speaks for itself. He's the classic pump and dump guy.

Now he's doing the "we're gonna make an SSS style amp next !". Lol. Just like his solid state Retro-Channel D-style.

Watch him collaborate with that guy from Vertex and they slap a Jack Or man AMZ Mosfet Booster into an amp chassis and claim it as a SSS. Lol

Andy, what was the story on that? You can email me privately if you want. sales@scumbackspeakers.com

I know there was quite a "Holy Shit, Batman!" thing for awhile, then nothing.

On another note, Lance deleted his "Fedex loses client's guitar!" thread on the TGP shortly after I called him out.

I'm guessing that's really not surprising.

Not sure which issue is in question ? Lance is walking the walk on TGP and someone asked if there were "plans for an SSS type amp". If-course he said yes....

As far as Retro-Channel; It was (supposedly) Lances company and they made solid state "wreck style" amps which were pimped on TGP. They were made under contract (at least some were) by Red Plate. Henry told Lance they overheated into anything less than four ohms, but Lance was about selling. He even claimed a solid state "D-style amp is coming". He also made some rack mount preamp stuff. The company is gone. No explanations I can find about what happened. He's a gem.... :?

The RetroWreck did have problems- which is why it likely went away, and that "Hail Mary" throw making fuzz faces and mark 2 fuzzes was incomplete- (another one rides the bus)
I met lance @ Namm, along with the Asterope cable guys (another scandal story there :P) Anyway Lance and the Asterope guys were friends. I did some consulting work for Asterope and they wanted to meet up- Lance happened to be there so we tone geeked out for a while with an Asher telecaster style guitar into his retrowreck - after 10-15 minutes it was overheating, cutting out - Notably the rear chassis was hot enough that you wouldn't want to touch it - Lance kind of shrugged off that heat issue off and the cutting out.. After a while longer it totally cut out, I walked away and that was that- admittedly I did want one just for the low volume aspect- Have to say- whomever built/ designed it had something going - I think with some improvements they could have resolved overheating/cutting out issues but then again if your only passion is $$$ and not caring- how long can that biz operate?

As for "TGP" its shill and charlatan posting headquarters- is anyone surprised about the FeDex story, or half the other shenanigans there?

Sad, doesn't look terribly bad inside. Henry said he told lance the amps needed more heatsinking or a fan... Based on the way that chassis was made, a heat sink could have been put on the top of the chassis directly above the output devices and likely solved the whole problem...total cost ? Less than five bucks I'm guessing.

I'd heard they honestly didn't sound bad, but there was a lot of potted stuff on the preamp that (should it fail), will leave the owner in the lurch.

Lance a while back also contacted my old amp company VVT about making an SSS amp as well and they quickly took a pass :D
I say for those out there wanting to take the info off this site and go into business doing hand-wired ODS clones and SSS's I only have 1 thing to say!

Good Luck

This amp retails for around 4-K. You make the choice....what would you rather spend that kind of cash on and own ? https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... d657e5d994
