Fully agree with Nickt. I would like to see one discussion forum to concentrate to classic rock and blues sounds like ampgarage is today. Metal music with dropped D etc. has nothing to do with real music to my mind. It sounds like someone is using a motor saw in the band. Maybe I am too old to metal and hope that nobody understand this wrong. Regards Harry Bluetone

Careful there. I understand where you're coming from. I am pretty well sick of music. But to say essentially "your music sucks because it doesn't appeal to my sense of aesthetics (or my emotions or intellect or whatever... ears, basically)" is pretty unfounded. Of course you're free to dislike metal, that's cool.
Defining what is and isn't music is a really hard thing. But nearly anyone you might ask for their definition has some _arbitrary_ concept of what music should be and almost always centers around the things in music to which they respond (i.e. a beautiful melody, something that moves them emotionally, a bumpin beat, or whatever).
What
I like about this board is that people are pretty helpful and accepting. I think you're pretty safe from this board becoming a metal haven, as the oversaturated metal sound is not something D-style or Wrecked amps do well. At the same time, the guy who posted this did so with the best of intentions and I don't think that putting out the "take your metal elsewhere" vibe is necessary.
As I said before I'm not much of a metal guy but I
do get a little board with the clips posted around here. Let me clarify something first though:
I really like the clips I do hear. Glen's album is way cool, and I'd kill to nail that dogears tone, both with a soldering iron and a guitar.
I am, however aching to hear some ODS clips that are something other than playing a little out over another funky vamp. I think the ODS has a lot to offer tonally beyond that realm but it doesn't seem like anyone takes it much beyond there and some straight ahead blues.
I know that the guys that are posting clips are doing their thing, and I don't begrudge them that; I'm just surprised that no one is doing much else with these great amps.
Let me end by saying that I am very eager to be proved wrong about the lack of clip variety, and if/when I get an amp built I will contribute some clips of my own.
And harryk I hope this is not taken as a personal attack. I definitely did not write this in any sort of anger, but just to offer perspective, which I may well have completely failed to do
