Haha, I was thinking the same thing (about the way I live - not you cbass).

But I might get brave and snap some pics of my work environment. My studio / office is currently crammed into a small room that had paneling when we bought the house. My wife and I both dislike paneling, so I peeled a section back to discover DRYWALL - yay! But, when I took all the paneling out, there were big streaks and x-es on the drywall of this nasty, black adhesive. I will likely have to replace the drywall - when the money is right. But for now, it's rather unattractive.....
You shouldn't have to replace the sheetrock even if you have to get a little rough scraping that adhesive off.t. It's easy enough to fix any gouges with some joint compound.
