I bought a pair of shoes from a drug dealer the other day. I dunno what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day,

The BeatBuddy looks cool. I soothed all my worries when I read the specs: yes, you can program your own MIDI patterns, and supply your own drum samples, yes it's MIDI in and out. Sounds very flexible.
Let us know how you rock on.

At present the midi is limited to start stop and clock. The next firmware update will have every function midi capable. The forum dwellers have created "with bass" songs and drumkits to give a one man band guitarist their own "Double Trouble" or "Experience" rhythm section.

I got a mojito mixing tool with the lime knife, mint leave cutter, stir spoon, and an end that mashes (muddles) the lime and mint leaves in the glass. I figure my wife got off the cheapest of any Xmas we've had together.
Of course the $1187 central furnace repair that happened 10 days ago killed a lot of the present purchases.
But I've got fresh mojitos to enjoy, so it ain't all bad! LOL

Pretty lean at our home this year. But, I got what I needed. Three pairs of slacks, 2 belts, some "dress up" thermal shirts, the latest CD of Ozric Tentacles, Lucille's BBQ gift card, and some rare microbrews from my beer blogging younger brother.
Learning to learn...

Woo Hoo!
I got an Empress Nebula vib/chorus/flanger pedal. Sounds great and has a bunch of memory locations that store your settings for easy live usage.
Also a bunch of Humble Pie early, Frampton era, cd's. Includes all four shows of the Rocking the Fillmore album...

In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

Nope, she likes vodka with 7 up. I got hooked on mojitos in January 2014 while going to my niece's wedding in Grand Cayman. The Sunshine Grill has the best burgers on the planet, and the mojitos to match.LeeMo wrote:Let me guess... the wife likes Mojitos.
Not a cheap date, of course, since it's a British Commonwealth colony (about a 1.3 to 1 ratio of GC dollars vs USD), but the food and drinks are outstanding.
Couldn't afford to live there by any means, but it was a fun week in Paradise. They shoot off fireworks on the beach for New Year's Eve, and the big yachts all line up with their lights on and drones with fireworks shot those off at 8 pm, 10 pm and midnight.
Fun island, to say the least!

Re: ok......so.......
I picked up Doug Self's Small Signal book. Looking forward to more solid state projects in the future. Picked up a Yamaha "step up" flute for my 15 yo daughter. A real eye opening experience, the same make of flute can vary wildly in tone. Be prepared to spend hours auditioning flutes and lots of $$. A professional told us to try 20 different flutes, choose 3 and pick from there. Lol, i don't know of any music store in our area that has 40k in flute inventory to try. It's more like pick from 5....
Re: ok......so.......
Heck John,
They want $50K for a guitar made in the 50's with a bolt on neck.
You're getting off lucky!
I remember when I played violin in the 60's, the one I wanted was $2K.
The one I got cost $600, but it was a good one that I still have.

I got a G&L Ascari guitar - nice and light, comfy neck, and dual HBs - kind of SG-ish.
Oh yeah, and a teeny little PedalTrain Nano+ pedal board and Cioks Adam power supply.
And I got to see both my sons together for the first time in 2 years
