My Bluetone Express is ready

Post by harryk »

:D After a long project I can say that my Express is ready. It`s outlook is not similar to original Expresses but my vision of that legendary amp. I will start real tests with it tonight with my band. Only after that I can say how it sounds. Here are some pictures of it. More info of it you find with modified schematics in my homepages www.bluetone.fi Regards Harry

8) Very nice :!: Good looking line of amps on your website, as well. As usual, everyone will want to hear clips :D

:D I promise to make those sound clips before Christmas. I already have discussed of it with one professional guitar player that I know in Finland. I just came from our band rehearsals and tested it in real life. I used it mainly to lead work and did not use it as only one amp to all purposes. It`s basic lead sound is something near old Marshalll territory, but I have to play it more to get used to it. Regards Harry

Very nice amplifier work. Also, that is a beautiful "Thinline" sort of guitar there. Appears to have Filtertron-esque pickups. Very nice.

Dittos on all, very nice work! A fine example of how amp wiring and component placement, etc. can and should look . Thanks for sharing!!

:D Thanks to everybody of compliments. I make those amp letterings by ordering them from one shop in Helsinki. They prepare letterings according your wishes and then you stick them to amp after painting. After that you coat surface with clear acrylic laquer several times to get a solid coating. Price for one set of letterings is some 30 USD. I have not found better way to do that thing. Because my each amp project is different, I do not want to use faceplates which are also very hard to find here in Finland.

That guitar in my homepage is a hand made left handed guitar with mini humbuckers. It`s manufacturer is a famous Finnish guy Matti Nevalainen who makes them under name Flying Finn. He has sold some of these guitars also to USA.

I tested my Express yesterday with my band and it`s sound is very pleasant for lead work. Of course it takes some time to get familiar to all it`s possibilities but this amp seems very promising. Regards Harry
