I joined after an invite from reeltarded.
Mine was definitely for help in getting a Traynor I've had for years back to a better place.
In the space of that time I've reinstalled a spec correct PT, made it adjustable bias, adjusted PI and learned about Long Tail, blocking, stoppers, followers, parasitic oscillation - and it continues.
But the thing is, it was a rebuild of sorts and in the process I've learned from many here, Martin, rp, Miles et al. The worm has also now made home in my brain - so watch this space!
cheers all for an awsome resource.
I've basically fell off the amp building wagon, for the first time in maybe 8-9 years I have not built at least one amp so far. However, I still have maybe 5-6 builds in progress. I've been swamped with completing some gov't projects and I'm building stuff just not amps. I did pick me up an MJT aged strat body not long ago, I guess another in progress project to sit around.
Besides, I now have 3 grandsons and I'm thinking about possiby some form of semi-retirement in a few years, so I'm trying to figure out what's next, what's the next 10 year plan.....thus my focus is changing sort of.
The last scratch amp I built was a Liverpool, which I didn't' like. I converted it into something mostly like a single channel Marshall 36Watt with power scaling. I got back into playing for some time. Now I'm trying resurrect a 5e8-a + power scaling project. In the interim, I've built some pedals and done AC30 work for a couple friends. I'm at the point in my life where I'm pondering getting rid of things, not adding, but it's so hard to not want something better....
