I will get some pics up soon mark , Im still working out the kinks on my latest project (lightning front end with fender style cathode bias 6l6 power section) turning 40 this year I only built 2 amps but have 4-5 in the works most of wich are experimental ( ampeg v-4 derivitive ,el34 lightning ,z-wreck ,octal pedal mule ect..) I would like to try getting some sound clips on my amps as I do them and I think it will help when it comes time to sell . it took me a while to sell my last one and it was a very straight forward rocket /ac30 style amp and I was not asking a mint . I cant say thank you enough for all the insperation and encouragement here ,TAG is my favorite pass time and there are some very smart and generous people here . I hope those of you with the health issues will continue to freqent this community and start feeling better soon

Well, I'm pretty new here and have mostly been trying to soak up some of the vast knowledge you all have.

Been on vacation the past week, trying to get away from the 60-90% humidity and 80-100 degree heat that we have here in Houston. Mornings have been around 80 degrees with ~90% humidity. My car is almost always covered in dew in the mornings. Found that Montana is a lot dryer and prettier than Houston. Also got to do a couple of my other favorite hobbies. Wildlife photography and mountain biking.

I'm in the middle of two builds. Both amps are designed by robrob. One is his Bassman Micro and the other is his Champ Micro. Right now I'm kind of fond of lower wattage amps to play around with. Plus, it's a great learning experience. I got the Bassman's board finished and I'm now laying out the face plate and drilling the chassis for components and controls. I finished the turret board for the Champ and will start populating it and drilling the chassis soon.

Was hoping to be finished with the Bassman Micro by now, but life just keeps getting in the way. My plan is to have the chassis finished this Friday and, with luck, the amp completed on Sunday.

Is it just me or has this forum gone from being an amp building forum to a help me diagnose my amp?
I noticed this too, is the economy back there not as perky as they say?

My excuse is I'm broke in Bumfucco. Turns out I moved to Greece with a better PR firm. I have a steamer trunk of old tubes I need to use up before I die too. Forced to build an amp a week when I'm 90 then drop dead in the middle of a mountain of unplayed amps. The cruel doom of the gods for hoarding tubes.

Here's my latest, an Emerald Pro in a more modern 19" chassis. I'm in the very early stages of the build, but it should be interesting. I've been through 4 of the originals and they were all different. I think Two Rock was evolving amp-by-amp at that stage of their history.

I have maybe 6 or more amps 95% done, need tweaking.
I promised myself not to start any more till they're done.
Again...
I was loving on Mickey Mouse but then I got a cnc engraver/router & it's been eating up my spare time lately.
Best wishes to all you guys with health issues.

I too came here to get help debugging my first scratch-build. I've started several since then but customer repairs and health issues have kept me from getting back to them as well. My issue was fairly minor compared to some, but who knew a simple hernia would lay me up for almost two months? At least from doing any real work, that is.

Bob, where in Michigan are you? I'm in Shepherd, which is right off US-127 between Alma and Mt. Pleasant.

I've been building like a madman...1-2 amps a week.

Here's a JM sig clean into low plate classic (#124) overdrive. Reverb, 1/2 loop, cathode bias switchable. Three button switch for reverb off/mid/overdrive. Shipped Saturday to Canada.

I also added a LNFB "Dirty" switch

It's been a crazy few months!!

No the blue is just vinyl. It's a cool covering though. It takes SO MUCH glue, but looks awesome. I have it in a bunch of different colors. There's an orange that I just got that is pretty wild

Here's a few more pics.

I am building amps all the time. I post my builds as progress pictures for my customers on my Frugal Amps Facebook page. I am not a real "Facebook" person but it was so much
easire to post daily pictures there for folks to see their amps than to try to update my now dated Web page that I succumbed to the unlimited storage it provided.
Then to top that off, after sniffing solder all day, I don't want to spend a lot of time maintaining a website, so it just made sense. Feel free to peruse builds there. Naturally you need a Facebook account and this all on its own is a bit of a pain.

Fully bitchin' builds, Taylor!

Hey, where can I get some rubber boots for the "mountain" style switches?

Taylor... your build always look damn fine.

I am on break from building until I sell the last 6 amp I made... since I suck at marketing, it may be a while...

Lack of funds for amps has mostly been my issue although I did build the Tweedle Dee amp a couple months ago.

Oh, and I had another heart attack in the middle of May.
