Re: Is this worth anything?
Can't quite figure out - it sorta looks like a 145 but not quite because the woofer looks 12" and the amp not what I'd expect in a 145, would be the same as 147, usually built in a gold-toned chassis.
IF it is a 145, nice find! Guitar thru a Leslie is wonderful. Even more so thru a Leslie plus another amp. Of course you'll have to make up an adapter box.

Can't tell you, but one thing's for sure, your first offer establishes the least amount you'll be paying. OBO means just that. Go see it, offer $300, give him your phone number, tell him to call when he changes his mind about your offer. Then leave. See what happens. When he comes running down the drive to counter at $550, politely tell him no thanks, but you're all ears when the number is more reasonable.
If you go there really wanting it, you'll pay $600. That's not how the game is supposed to work!

I don't really want it but it would be cool to have . I know some models are fairly valuable I was thinking about seeing if wantas to trade for an amp. I just don't know much about them.
Re: Is this worth anything?

Single speed, that is fast rotors or off. I'm sure the motors & pulleys & amp are in perfect shape with all that servicing but it's not one I'd choose for guitar use. Especially at $600. Oh well.

Shorty!
If you ever wanted a guitar Leslie, this or a mod 25 are the best place to start, but you are gonna need a 122 to chop to get the amp and the motor and the..
ask him if you can just have it...

Re: Is this worth anything?
Real Leslie's are over-rated for guitar players. Sure they sound great, but for the amount that you will use it (2 songs per night maybe?), having something that fits on your pedal board makes a whole lot more sense. Lugging a Leslie around is totally nuts, and only a keyboard player with a Hammond B3 or C3, a truck and 4 roadies should ever consider doing so.
I have a friend who is selling a Rotosphere (MKII I think, but not sure). if you want to know more, PM me your email and phone, and I will pass on your info to him.

All the pretend things pretend, heh
Is it big? Sort of. It makes you carry another amp too. It's badass and loud and it's getting a new amp for Christmas.

I'd tend to agree. Unless you are Eric Clapton [1] and it just magically appears on stage for you when you arrive, it is just too big and heavy.sliberty wrote:Real Leslie's are over-rated for guitar players...
[1] Pittsburgh ~1977. He had the Leslie there just to play Badge. It was the ultimate indulgence. When he kicked the f/s, it was a slice of heaven, too. For one tune.
Re: Is this worth anything?
What mods can be done to a mod 25? I have a mod 25 with the original amp and aLeie pre-amp.Reeltarded wrote:Shorty!

The unit in the OP looks to be a better choice since it has the horn and the vents in the cab for the horn. The of 25 has no horn or the vents for it. I do love the real rotary and woe love to get THAT 122 sound
Re: Is this worth anything?
Music was better when musicians had to lug big heavy things around. Maybe the insane effort separated the wheat from the chaff.
Re: Is this worth anything?
Nah. I get much better tone from my Marshall cellphone than I ever could from a tube amp. Pfft!
