Nice! I've got my eyes on a Baldwin organ at a local thrift shop, I can see a ton of tubes inside it though the holes in the back! They want $100 but I need to get the price down quite a bit before I haul it home (or the wife might blow a gasket).

Let it sit there a while. Theyll come down.
This one was free . got 6x6bq5 black plates and 4 12ax7 sylvainoa long plates . the tubes look like theyve barely been run.the tone generator is transistor . oh and a leslie.
Iron looks pretty beefy.
I saw some pics on the net that had this model with p12n's but this one has some crappy looking ceramics. Was kinda bummed about that

I watched that Baldwin organ in the thrift shop for over a month an they finally did drop the price from $100 to $30, so I brought it home. Well worth $30 to a scoundrel tube collector like me!

The green labelled tubes look to be made by Sylvania - they are long gray plate 12AX7 (no suffix). The yellow ones are black plate AU7. The pair of 6L6 are made by GE (score!).

Also scored a black plate AX7 made by probably Raytheon - it is in my 5F1 clone and sounds incredible.

One of the chokes has a third lead - I assume maybe it would be connected to the metal frame?

Tubes ain't junk - unless it's the one's with really oddball numbers.

Speaking of dragging in and seeing your little helper, things could be worse. friend's cat is serial killer, yesterday was a nice warm rat at the foot of the bed in the AM. "Rat for breakfast everyone, eat up, plenty more if you're still hungry. Who's up for moles for lunch!"

Maybe it's tapped, I'd put the ohmmeter to work, don't assume, you know the rest.

Nice tube score. I had an uncle that worked for Raytheon in the early 50's, he had no tube stash though. I'm going to have to put 5 cousins in that area (Boston suburbs) on alert for anybody flogging tubes at garage sales.

Raytheon ain't what it used to be. They actually have a plant near here in Farmingotn, NM, but they make missile parts. No tubes that I know of. I've seen the missile sections stacked up outside the plant, they just look like 55 gal drums. I think they are the guidance part of the missile. If there are any tubes in them, I'm sure it's a secret.

The Raytheon 12ax7 tubes in most old Baldwins are the black, long plate version.

They work great in the PI section.
