Now Listen here. It really don't get better

Maybe you've all seen this but I haven't. I regard it as the best blues guitar I've ever heard. Gary just pulls the greatest performance out of BB and viseversa. Wow.

Here are a couple that the tone blows me away. I wish there was more. you can do a search at youtube to find these. Search "Betts Toler".

It must have been a good night. Usually Gary Moore is living proof why white guys shouldn't play the blues.

What an amazing performance 8) I took my wife to see BB King in Muncie, Indiana, last year for her birthday. She has good taste in blues musicians :D Rumor had it, it would be his last year to tour. It was a tremendous event. I'm glad I got to see him live. I don't know how he continues to tour at his age and with diabetes :!:
I don't know much about Gary as a person, but he sure supported and complimented BB's style, showing great respect for the master 8)
Thanks for passing that link along :!:

I saw him first time back in the '60s at the old Carosel Ballroom in San Francisco. He topped a bill that included Albert King and a (at that time) unknown band calling itself simply "Chicago". It was a show that changed my focus for all time to the blues.

In an interview in Vintage Guitar, Gary Moore says perhaps the most important thing he ever learned as a guitar player he heard from Albert King. King said, "Play ever other lick son". Though he can be a fireball as his performance on (say) "The Messiah will return" shows, his blues virtuosity (sorry Mr. Jones) is unquestioned. BB keeps saying he's retired from touring but I think it's in his blood. He'll die on stage one of these days.

Cool clip, a green jacket and a "Green" guitar.
B.B. is a true gentleman when it comes to making his "Guests" look their best. That speaks volumes as to his character. May he keep on for many more years. Les Paul still plays every Monday night and he's well into his 90's.

It looks like BB doesn't find race OR sex to be a barrier to playing blues :D

I've seen BB about a dozen times and he always puts on a GREAT show. I've seen him Jam with KWS, Johnny Lang, Eric Johnson, Buddy Guy, Lonnie Brooks, and many others. BB always lets his guests take center stage, which is SO showman like. He is and will always be one of my favorite live performs.

Gary is fantastic player and there are a bunch of great vids of him floating around. His phrasing can be a bit verbose for the blues at times, but it's cool.

I don't know about that. I liked him with Thin Lizzy but I just can't muster up any respect for him as a bluesman. Maybe he's inspired by playing with BB, where he loses me is on his recordings. The notes are right but all the feel is sucked out of it. Just my opinion...

This is a total trip

That scene is TOO funny. I want to know what his band was on that night!!!

Compare it to this one:

Now here's a guy I'd love to see play through a Wreck!!! One of my favorite live performers, except for his quirkiness about vices :?

Now THAT'S more like it!

D.D. plays like he means it because he DOES mean it, every note of it. It's all his, too. How many other guys can play upside down lefty strung righty with those telephone poles he strings that thing with?

As far as "quirkiness about vices" goes maybe you need to bury a few of your friends to understand.
