I'm curious about the PA topology you used as i'm about to build myself a similar beast (no picture). I'm not very familiar with 6V6s.

Does anyone have gutshots of a Naked? Dave says it is the Naylor preamp and NFB into a 2203 power section. However, the Schematics I have seen seem to show the naylor style power section.

I am wanting to make mine as close to the original 100 watt ones as possible. I played one a few years ago and absolutely loved it.

I've attached the relevant info I have found. The "petey the pitbull" ones are supposedly traced from a real naked. If you look at the filtering cap values they look to be the same values used in the SD60...right?

Any other input would be appreciated. I have started drawing how I want to do my layout and have most of it sorted out but I just need to verify a few things.

What do you consider the "differences" between the naylor and 2203 "power section", besides the obvious naylor presence? 5881 vs EL34? Output caps? Output grids? MV setup, etc
Or are you talking about the power supply?
The Petey and sd60 filtering looks the same. Only difference between those and 2203 is preamp 50/50 vs 22/22

I guess that is kind of my question. On another forum Dave himself said:

"I did the Naylor clean on the dual 60 and was involved with a few other things. Kyle the owner at the time was my good friend. My goal was not to change the tone of the Dirty. Yes I did the Budda. Just the preamp and used a power section they had. Yes it has some similarity to the Naylor circuit. The Naylor sound is all in the power amp though. The Naked amp that I discontinued was exactly what I did for Billy Howerdel. This was a Naylor front end on a Marshall with the Naylor negative feedback arangement. Just though I would make some. Naylor was aware of it and we're cool with it. Maybe that clears some things up."

I know I could take these schemes and make a working amp that is similar to the naked, sd60, or budda. I really just want to make it as close to the real 100 watt Naked as possible. So if anyone knows more about the actual Naked I would very much appreciate any information you can provide.

Apparently the majority of the tone is an amp that started life as a late 70's Superlead with some preamp mods - available in a replica for the "reasonable" price for $3,500. I currently have a 50W Plexi that never quite sounded right (it's the Ceriatone layout, and I certainly don't love his boards), so I'm thinking of overhauling it with something resembling a Naked.

What would you guess is going on under the hood? I'm guessing stock Superlead power amp, with what could be similar to Jose/Jackson mods on the preamp....
What I did was contact Myasnikov and he can clone pretty much anything super close and really good stuff for like $500 bucks. So what I did was a single unit preamp with 2 channels and a voicing switch to go between a Naylor SD60 kina voice and a Friedman Naked voice. Also a bite/treble switch, 3 way toggle switch for the clean channel, voltage selector switch, footswitch out, 2 ins, 2 outs, 2 JJ 12axt7 tubes. Its pretty much a 1 trick pony but man... it get you SUPER CLOSE. Also I use it with a Marshall Power amp and a Gibson Les Paul Classic Reissue with the Tom Anderson Pickups (H3+ and H1-).
Then... I got a little bit more obsessed and started buying the FX rack gear that he use to use jajajaja.... I even sent him a message asking what he used each unit for and he said that he mostly used the Lexicon MPX G2 for everything except delays, because it dropped the dry signal down like 2db, then he used the TC Electronic G-Force for clean delays, he also said that the AXE FX is cool but he still misses the Lexicon. I quote: "Its probably the best sounding unit I've ever heard, especially the pedal simulations." So if you want those warm, full and crispy FX get that Lexicon ;)

Here's a video of my preamp tested by Myasnikov before sending:
