Regan, thanx for that perspective.

To fill that out a bit for the others, the Edcor OT you refer to is a 100W 30-20kHz +/- 1dB that weighs about 10 lbs. So as a guitar bandwidth OT probably good for ~150W. M6 lams of course.

BTW I checked the leads on my 273X and they are in fact stranded but the pretinned type, so at a quick look they look like solid.

I agree about appearances.
It could be so much nicer.

With an simple upcharge they could offer custom bells, or colors.

Wait, Mercury Magnetics already does that.

I always liked the way Edcor transformers look.

Wait, Mercury Magnetics already does that.
For ~$500 for a set I'd expect an option of pink bells with rhinestones!

They do seem a nice family biz that takes pride in their craft. Wish they'd offer Hammertone. Still, for myself I'm not that big on M6 and plastic bobbins.

You all are aware that edcor offers bells in at least gray, black, and raw, as an option at like $6? Good luck finding that from their new site.

You're going to build one of these? You'll have to see Zsa Zsa for the rhinestones.

Yow! That made my eyes hurt, the amp not ZsaZsa, though she never did it for me. I was ~8 at the time but I think Eva was way hotter.
