Triode USA?
Have any of you bought anything from Triode USA lately?
I ordered a Magnetic Component PT for a Tweedle on the 12th.
Got a confirmation email for the purchase.
No word from them since.
I sent an email asking politley when it will ship, no reply.
I can't remember where I ordered the transformers for my ODS.
I used MC trannies on that too.
Should I have ordered through the other retailer, Amp Parts Direct?

Re: Triode USA?
Triode is the better choice IMO, but the wait time can be a while. I ordered a Supro 10w OT from them recently and that one shipped pretty fast. My guess is the more popular stuff has a higher probability of a long wait time. Hope you get it soon.
Re: Triode USA?
I had one experience with Triode. Poor customer service and communication. Will not be repeating.
Re: Triode USA?
I just got in an order from them yesterday. Very well packed and quickly shipped.
Re: Triode USA?
Triode can take some time getting a response and shipping but I do a lot of business with them.
Re: Triode USA?
From another dealer point of view...
They might not have stock and are waiting for there delivery
a Reply email would have been nice.

Re: Triode USA?
Yeah, they are almost as quick as Steve to ship when they have it in stock. Ironically, they are in the same city as Magnetic Components, so you'd think it wouldn't be an issue, but apparently Mag. Comp. can get pretty backlogged. I've always gotten excellent customer service from Triode. They've even comp'd shipping for me when one thing took crazy long to ship.ApexJr. wrote:From another dealer point of view...

Re: Triode USA?
I didn't hear back from Triode so I sent another email asking about the status of my order.
About an hour later I get an email saying the status has been updated.
It now shows that it is shipped with a tracking # (of course it's not in the system yet).
I'm not usually impatient but they took the money at the time of ordering and it was 7 days before I heard anything.
So when I get the PT and chassis I can start putting it all together.

Re: Triode USA?
Tom,
It will be worth the wait and I have no idea why Triode doesn't update for us other then they may be super busy like Steve S. (apexjr) noted.

Re: Triode USA?
I've ordered from them 4 or 5 times... with minor problems each time.
Guarantees about TRIODE U.S.A.:
1. If order details claim shipped, it is likely that only one of several were.
2. If it is not in stock, you will not know it.
3. They will not answer phone number if you try to call..leave message.
4. They will not inform you with email if problems exist until you email them.
An email at any point would be nice. and customer service is nonexistant. ...Sounds like a one or two man operation out of their house.
That being said, I will still order from them but I will not expect it soon.

If it don't get hot and glow, I don't want it !
Re: Triode USA?
Sounds like a great business model.
Most electronics stores want to get your order to you as soon as possible if you are willing to pay a bit more.
They know we are an impatient lot.
But to not reply to a inquiry about an order that was paid for a week before they shipped is pretty lame.
I am however, thankful that these parts are still available (for the most part) for us hobby builders.

Re: Triode USA?
I got the transformer Tuesday.
It was packed well.
Looks good, very heavy for it's size.
I cut the square hole in the chassis and drilled the mounting holes.
It was then that I noticed the threads on the PT screws were buggered up from the factory.
They seem a bit small for a transformer this heavy.
Really couldn't spin a nut on the end of the screw.
I had to use a die to clean up the threads before a nut could be installed.
Hope it can be mounted securely.

Re: Triode USA?
They take a long time if it isn't stocked and the comms are laughable, but when the goods eventually arrive REALLY well packed all complaints are forgotten, and once you get that MC iron in your amp, you are really smiling again.
A week Tom?
I ordered a set on 8th December, it was out of stock and in the end they sent it Express at no extra cost, which sadly incurs extra charges in the UK, but it got stuck in UK Customs over Christmas and New year, I don't think I got it till 10th Jan ISTR...
