It's those . . . angles, man. They're villainous.

Yeah, when I build around the house, I build AROUND the house. Knowhattimean?

Look, I added little picket fences for the tiny people that will live inside this 1000-watt dollhouse.

PI wired.

I just don't understand why it doesn't look like Bruce Clement's.

All done, fired up, and working!

Had to sort a few missed connections--one unsoldered MV connection, V1 and V2 cathodes not grounded at all, input jack wired backwards. And my bias reservoir cap is going to bake being so close to the power tubes.

But pretty astounded it works, given all the layout decisions I made on the fly. Notice that V2 is closest to the controls at the front of the chassis, and this keeps the tone stack wires really short.

Sounds great! Puts out 99.8 watts clean! Preamp distortion sounds awesome, even with old Marshall branded Chinese tubes. 480vDC on the plates of the 5881s, 80% dissipation (I've got the bias as negative as it gets...will have to fix that...I don't need a blast furnace).

Got a bit of hum when the master volume is up high; not surprising, since I took a lot of chances with my NFB, MV, power tube grid wires all running together. I'll have to sort them out a bit better.

Excellent! Do you have iTunes on it? (sorry...last Apple joke. Promise!).

You should put a pair of earpods in parallel with the load to test their fidelity at 50watts!

Nice job.

I don't have any CPU cases that nice so I will have to stick with retro toasters. :)

Thanks guys!

This one is totally open source, so if it crashes, there are many thoughtful and nerdy persons willing to help you fix bugs.

I ordered face plates to fit into the CDROM openings on the front. Mock-up attached.

Man, if there were more than one person in my town who built amps, I'd have a blast taking it to the monthly meeting.
