Then go to Arizona, Tucson in particular, August & early September AKA "monsoon season". It'll get up to 125+ out in the sun, then a parade of thunderstorms in mid afternoon, then the temp bounces back up to 115F WITH the humidity. MMmm.... now that's living! By morning, it's all dry as could be, time to repeat the process. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt but it was too hot to wear it.

Let's see, 9:45am here and 37F.

I have been wanting some snow this winter but after seeing that pile up in
Michigan, I think I will take the rain.

123 cars in the pile up?

Leo, Tucson's not that bad, I lived there for 5 years. When the monsoon is on you stay indoors and watch the lightning show, that's why God gave us central air!

I was only there for the monsoon month in '78. Mornings got dropped off at the UA campus, had to walk back home @ 3 miles away late afternoon @ 4, no central air but we did have a swamp cooler. I'd pick up a chilly 6 of Coors at the Circle-K just a couple blocks from the house, they were already starting to warm up by the time I got in the door. Knock down a couple quick ones - to replace what I'd sweated out - never felt the alcohol. Actually, I enjoyed it all quite a lot & would do it again in an instant. Good times. VERY impressive driving up to Mt. Lemmon to the observatory, it looked like Switzerland up there with log-house mansions in the tall pines, just knockout beautiful.

Mines get frozen by the time i walk home at this time of the year !!! :( that's why i drink whiskey all winter long. Whiskey doesn't freeze, it barely get sirupty...even after a night outside.

Go north young man, go north. When whisky freezes, it's heading below -40, doesn't matter F or C, at -40 give or take a degree they're the same. Bad time to waste whisky by letting it freeze. Bring it in the igloo and sip it slow while you take your mukluks off and dry them off by the cellophane.

Way back when on a hot summer day at the lab we'd quik-cool a 6-pak or make a nice whisky slush with a bit of liquid nitrogen, spectacular AND refreshing!

Our power was out for about 12 hours yesterday. The wife and kids had a snow day - stayed home and played cards and board games all day while I was at work. Came home to a dark cold house, couldn't play electric guitar, the pellet stove won't work when the power is off, etc. It was starting to not be a fun adventure anymore.

I was pretty glad to see the power come back on about 9:30 pm last night!
Don't you boys know any NICE songs?
