Not the best I know, but an 8'x15"x2" (enough for 4 guitars) spalted maple at Woodcrafters for $80.00....$20 per body is good enough for me.

I'd like a Tele, Strat, Flying V, and Explorer all from the same slab!

I love the way the eyeballs open up on 40.09. Really nice stuff. Plans for it? So many pieces. Dining room table?

4x12 slant cab, and eventually full stack with matching amp cab.

Might get really giddy and have someone with router templates or cnc do matching Strat body for me.

You may be building furniture instead of a good speaker cabinet. Have you played a solid maple 4x12 before?

You may prefer having a cabinet made of void-free ply for its resonance-damping properties, and then applying a veneer of your maple for aesthetics.

I have not played a maple cab. I'd expect it to be bright, like a maple neck.

This is American black walnut. The walnut cab that I previously built was slightly dark sounding, but that could be from many reasons.
