What a GREAT teacher too. He opened my eyes and demystified the fretboard.
Audley Freed - anybody heard of him? He played in a band called Cry of Love in the 90's (or 00's?). He's a great guitarist, and very into good vintage tone - I think he's still out there somewhere.
I wore out some Cry of Love CD's. He left Cry and started playing with The Black Crowes. I think he is playing Cheryl Crow now.

A little sample ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My4rWJMUjLI

Billy Rogers. Tragically short life. Saw him play about 6 months after I saw George Benson's "Breezin" tour show. Benson could sing better...........

I know Alex from William Clarke's "Blowing Like Hell". Great player.

I can't believe I left off Phil Manzanera. He provided so much 'atmospherics' and texture to Roxy Music songs.

And then there's 801 Live:

Tasty. I guess that's the thing I like. The guy that plays 'embrace this song,' rather than 'look at me.'

Lifeson from Rush, seems to be almost ignored outside of the prog rock scene , great solos and a pretty unique style

Audley's great...he also played with the Black Crowes. He's also a member of Trigger Hippy, Joan Osborne on vocals. Nice stuff.
