I'm just now coming off a tri/pent/cf/ts preamp project. There's a tremendous amount of flexibility this setup has if you tune things, rather than copy/paste sections of components into another project and expect it to work optimally.
I see now :) I fully agree, some tuning are most likely needed when cut-and-paste circuit elements into different projects. I'm not sure which project 10thTx was referring to, perhaps he will clarify.

I would presume the amp idea would need tweaking and I think the schematic would be a reasonable starting place.

For comparison, look at the HoSo56 that Geezer (Hoffman forum) built. I did versions of the HoSo56 with EL84, 6BM8, 6V6, 6AQ5 and 5881 and liked all of them. One of the most touch sensitive amps I've ever played.

Geezer even came up with a relay "pseudo channel switching idea for a HoSo56 that works well.

Regarding the FX, I am currently using this idea on my D'Mars ODS & love it. I initially, had a full D'Lator type FX on board and realized that I did not need a triode for the send stage since the cathode follower worked as a buffer itself (as I understand it).

Compare the T-Rocket 5879 & 5881 to the schematics attached. All of these schematics are proven designs and not just a DRAFT.

WRT to the 5879 in V1, since the values are taken from proven designs so should work well as they are... I believe Matt was asking if you tweaked the values for the 5879 when you move the stage before/after the 12A_7 stage. If not, I am sure Matt will correct me... :?

OK, sorry I didn't understand the question at first. (IIRC) Yes, I tweaked the cathode resistor and cathode cap values. That was it. Regarding the coupling cap off the plate, I've used .0047 - .01 range.

Some people have used the values you would see in the EF86.. as you can compare. Or its something tweakable.

Here is another schematic using EF86 into 12AX7 PI and pair of 6V6's PA close to Stanray formula.

Another idea for a Rocket Reverb using the D-style one tube reverb and a 5879 V1. DRAFT idea.

CHECK for errors! Compare with other Rocket Reverb schematics.

Yet another mashup :D Isn't it a T-Rocket instead of a "Trainwreck Rocket"?
