I have a strict policy of not drinking smoking or jacking off 12 year olds, or going with any girls that do.

He meant the 12 year old alien that lives on the space craft he works on! He';s actually 37 in human years.

For the record, if you ask nicely via pm/email, he WILL let you see it. So let's be done with that "you won't let us see anything." Sure he's not as open as some of the guys here, but if you're not attacking his character and telling him what a piece of crap he and his work are, you CAN get info.
Ben

The email thing is just another attempt at being able to have people under his control. If you have to beg him for it then you are giving him the ego trip he seems to thrive on. I have already stated that he has nothing I want. What will happen is that some unscrouplous character will get him to email the info, incorporate it into an amp and post it on the web before Gary does and call it his. At least if Gary posts it he has a timestamp on his work and have proof it was stolen. My email is posted here as well as my PM . If he wanted my opinion on something all he has to do is send it to me in an email or PM. I am not going to beg for it.

So far I think you are the only one requesting info. I don't think he has 500 people emailing him for info on his VJ mods at least not from this forum. So be honest, did he send you some reveloutionary break through in new amplifier design. I doubt it.

I am working on amps and posting here just like I always do.

First rule - keep your mouth shut in a shit fight. :D Oops just broke it...

Just joking... things are getting way too serious for the cars and girls area.

Modded VJ's? New amps in a VJ chassis? Sounds like Technical Discussion (ie building amps in order to get cars and girls) 8).

Garry I would be interested in your circuit if you would PM me.

Now lets get back on topic: I knew a girl once who was so fat she couldn't fit in the back seat of my car so we ....

benoit wrote: I don't think his dual PA system is revolutionary, but as a fairly new student of amp circuitry I wasn't real sure how a guy would implement that. In terms of figuring out how to make stuff sound like I want it to, it wasn't all that helpful, I think, as I've been thoroughly unimpressed with the clips I've watched of Mr. Moore's offerings. It did satisfy my noobish curiosity as to how exactly he wired the thing. But what difference does it make whether it was a revolutionary breakthrough or a completely unusable mess.
He has made the statements that he is going to revolutionize the tube amp and so far I don't think anyone has seen any proof of that. I call BS when I see it and you just confirmed that there is nothing revolutionary in the circuits that he started this thread with. So he is pumping up people's curisoty and then not quite living up to his claims.
benoit wrote:What difference does it make if I'm the only one who had any curiosity? What on earth did _I_ do wrong? I saw something I didn't understand, asked for clarification, and got it. And in this particular instance, what did Moore do wrong?
You didn't do anything wrong that I know of. If you are really interested there is a thread started by Mr. Moore 3 days ago about the exact same thing. Here's a link if you're interested.

And really, what is the point of prolonging this discussion? You're not going to make him mad enough to leave, and I'd rather have him here not mad than have him here with a chip on his shoulder.
The VJ crowd appears over time kind of like a virus. As far as prolonging this discussion you seem to be adding your share of posts on the topic. I think he already had a chip on his shoulder before he got here. He doesn't even know why he is here.

There are just some of my circuits I will not post live in the internet, like the exact print of my power brake, like the exact print of my 4 gain stage pre-amp with the constant current charge pump biasing.

I did post on the internet, however, the current transformer part I invented, that allowed me to into two 50 watt filament power supplies for the 813 tube amp project I'm doing. Now, I don't expect the 813 amp to go far. This project was started as a reply to the Crate 600 watt Blue Voodoo amp I saw on YouTube. My goal was to do a high wattage amp using only two power tubes, thus the RCA 813 Beam Power Pentode became the logical choice. I only had to figure out how to do DC filaments at 10 volts at 5 amps and mount everything inside a 17x14x5 chassis. Yes, this will also be a power scaled amplifier, and no I don't think Kevin's circuit can handle a 1.4 KV plate voltage at 250 mills for the power tubes.

We have already discussed the stuff you won't show anyone and I think the response was that all of the amps we heard with those mods installed still didn't sound too good. Maybe you should try them in something other than a VJ.

I thought Faraday and Stanley were the ones who invented the transformer as we know it. Are you sure your's isn't just a filament transformer wound to your specifications?

Have you built this monster yet? I didn't know that Epiphone had a VJ with a 17x14x5 chassis. One of the things I remember hearing about the Crate 600 was that it was still a Crate and sounded like crap, only a lot louder than the other Crates that sounded like crap. Is your amp still on paper or do you have any clips yet? It can look good on paper and sound like crap ya know.

Dude, what is your obsession with trying to prove you're more intelligent and build better circuits than Kevin? Just do your thing and quit putting him down trying to make yourself look like a genious. I use to build linear RF amps back in the early 70s and I got to tell you, you better be carefull building anything with over 1kv inside and giving it out to consumers.

Just what is the point of this particular post. Is it in response to something that was said previously in this post. Was it a response to these ghost people that keep emailing you wanting you to answer their questions here? Are you hearing voices in your head? I don't get it. Was it just a cut and paste from another site like your original posting? You keep spewing forth but I still haven't heard any of your wonderful designs that sound any better than a VJ straight out of the box.

Hey, I posted this on the web as well. A current transformer is a toriodal transformer where the unfiltered dc current flows through the primary coil, and the secondary coil shunts the 120 cycle ac ripple, to ground.
Therefore, the primary and secondary coils are operated in the current mode of operation, verses a power transformer is operated in the voltage mode of operation. Now, since I was looking at filtering a low voltage rail of 5 amperes, winding three CT's in series with three filter caps did the trick.

Normally, one should not wire up an EL power transformer is such a way since running dc current into the primary coil would make it run hot.

As far as my 813 project, it will have to wait until I finish my 36watt SE build, and my 18 watt mixed PA mode Class A / Class AB P/P build.

besides, I posted my double-bridge filament power supply. you didn't mention that one, now did you ??????

You will no doubt come back with some other kind of responce that I have nothing to contribute to the amp building community or probably attack the circuit itself in some way as not usable or something else.
