Hi
I Plan a new Built, (my first Trainwreck)

OK, The question is about PW and OT transfo's

I got couple choice

The Classic Tone:

Is they are big enough, rated 30W ?
Lamination M-19

The EDCOR:

https://www.edcorusa.com/cxpp30-ms-6_6k (30W)
Or the

Also can be found at:

I know Mercury Magnetic too, but they out of my budget...

Pacific Transformer seem's good too,
If someone have use it let me know what you think about :)

Someone got alternative proposition ?
Some other brand

Thanks Guy's !

Regards !

I'd start with a set of Pacific transformers, I've heard a lot of good reports with these transformers.

I've heard an Express built with the Heyboer set which were good. The Classic Tone power transformer is good but quite large, I suspect it might yield a bit more voltage than intended. As I'm inclined to believe they are over specified, though this is just a hunch, no science involved.

I've never used or heard the Edcor stuff so I can't comment on them.
Yours Sincerely

I've built a Rocket and Rockster with the Edcor units and they sound good and so far have worked great. Got a set for a Liverpool build right now.

RJ can tell you more about Edcors for an Express build.
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

They are Trainwreck standard 300mA rated, good enough for a 80 to 100w amp :)

Magnetic Components just started selling these HiFi OT's http://triodestore.com/40-18080.html

No problem using these transformers in my Express but rjguitars.net has good transformer sets to choose from as well as complete kits and he supports the TAG members very well with his products.
