Joe Bonamassa’s new CD release, Different Shades of Blue – he really amazes me. Like the whole CD but especially like tracks 2 (Oh Beautiful!), 6 (Never Give All Your Heart), and 8 (the title track).

Ah! The first album without Peter Gabriel. Great music. One of rock's best drummers EVAR. Amazing and tragic that Collins went from jazz/prog/rock MASTER to nu-wave/pop/poop crap pap yuk...all in the same band. Almost as sad as Geddy Lee losing his high notes.

And on their first Non Gabriel tour Bill Bruford was in the drum chair while Collins sang. Then they played some stuff together. Was amazing....
TWO best drummers evar!!
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.
I missed Bruford, but certainly appreciated him in King Crimson. First Genesis tour I saw was Seconds Out, I think. With Chester Thompson on drums--also a giant on the kit. Collins had that full-body tambourine solo perfected.

Prince's PlectrumElectrum is kicking ass. Excellent, all girl backing band (super purty!). Plenty of Prince's guitar heroics. Butt-funkin', party music. Super cool.
