Wow...CE carries Eminence Speakers now.
Pretty good prices, considering you can buy Just One speaker...!! :)

It is pretty cool. And of course they've been a Jensen distributor for years. I just tried my first Jensen Jet Falcon from them. Quite good, bloody cheap.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

Yes...Jensen for a long time.
I think we can ship direct to the "Customer".
If anybody Needs/Wants a new Eminence Speaker (or Jensen)...just send me a PM or an email...I can send it to you for cost + shipping.

I guess I should 2x check with CE before I make a promise.......

Can you just tell them you're a builder/repair man, or do you have to have a legit LLC to get an account from CE?

+1 on the Falcon Jensens, I put a pair of 10" in my brown Super, way better in that amp than the Celestion 50W I took out. They'll find a place...

Another favorite $xx for Eminence Tex Heat, almost the same as Mojo. That makes it a shipping cost game, where to buy.

edited by request.

Uncomfortable fact: by the time I pay shipping, the cost is a near match to the price customers can buy straight from Musicians Fiend "free shippng" and other similar outfits.

I have no objection to techs who ask a higher price. PRESUMABLY they are testing their parts before delivering the repair/build and take on the responsibility of tangling with the supplier if there's any problem whether it's speakers, tubes, caps, resistors, transformers, whatever. Gotta get something for time spent selecting, ordering, stocking and there's the "time value of money" to consider for having cash tied up in inventory.

Those customers who supply their own speakers, tubes etc, I use their parts, no problem. BUT, if there is a problem I let 'em know it's THEIR time and shipping that will be spent dealing with their suppliers. For instance one well-meaning customer brought in a couple of quads of output tubes plus a handful of pre tubes. One output out of each quad was defective, so was one pre tube. And this from a store that also sells 'deep discount' on Ebay. But he paid a big premium compared to their Ebay price to buy "over the counter." His time, his hassle, driving back and forth to the store. His time is worth something, so is mine. If he let me install tubes from my stock, would have saved some hours and a couple gallons of gas. Sometimes you try to beat the system, and it winds up the system beats you, whether a customer or tech.

20 years ago I had a (Marshall) major piss-off - back then I did "free" pick up and drop off - even 50 miles each way. What a sap I was... In any case one customer deferred his payment, and on the next trip he paid my labor, but gave me a couple of resistors and caps he had "liberated" from a studio's tech room - payment in kind - except the parts he gave me weren't the quality level I'd used in his amp repair. No more soup for you know who. Bad enough I was taking a profit-margin bruising by giving gear free taxi service. No more of that.

I assumed people new retail pricing was a lot more than wholesale for any item bought anywhere.
But in respect to those that differ (especially if it has a negative impact on their life) , Please Remove any pricing from this thread.
Again.....Please Remove prices.!
My Apologies
Thank You

They should, but "some" people don't want ANYBODY to make a profit. I think we've all had at least a couple customers like that. :( Worked great for the Communists, didn't it? Woops, no, guess not. Unless you want a country like North Korea.

Places like WalMart help reinforce this attitude "I can get it for less..." but even WalMart must make a profit or else they'd be gone gone gone like a turkey through the corn.

Some who thought my rates too high learned the hard way, by having Ten Thumbs Tommy & Knuckle-Draggin' Looie do their "cut rate" repairs & mods. Which I wind up having to fix correctly. Or got the snot shocked out of 'em or fingers sizzled with solder by trying to do their own. A very few, I can count on one hand with change left over, approached me with respect and I got 'em started off on the right foot, doing their own repairs and mods. But most of 'em choke just on the cost of buying a competent soldering kit, then they see the price of proper-quality solder, their interest ends there.

Jesus.....I really thought that TAG was such a small community, that there would be no problem.
I was honestly just trying to save our members some money.....you guys have all helped ME several times.
My wife owned a small Back-Line Company for a few years...so I qualified for a CE account...we bought a lot of stuff from them.
I also went to NAMM a few times on her name.

I hope you guys believe me when I say I had NO intention of making anybody's life less enjoyable than it already is.
I may have made a bad mistake here.
If it still bothers any of you guys...PLEASE shoot me a PM and I will ask TAG to drown the whole thing.
Thank You

Gents,

My apologies; it was inappropriate for me to police the comments of members here. Sorry, momentary lapse. There was no ill will intended here and it was wrong of me to throw that back in CMoore's face. I deleted my reply as well.

Not to be melodramatic. but..... OK...I believe we have my blunder all under control now.
It was really my mistake.
If I can help anybody with a speaker or some other item from CE...for their PERSONAL use...send me a line.
Antique Electronics Supply is also an affiliate and are a great retail outlet to patronize.
Thanks
