Re: LA Amp Show October 4-5
I went to the show yesterday with my brother. 1st time I've ever been to one. I got a chance to meet Richard Goodsell who made my Custom 33 and Henry at Redplate who makes amps I wish I owned. I played his TweedyVerb and was very impressed. I hope to make something like it someday but I doubt I would try to fit it all in a Champ chassis
It was educational to see the small/aspiring builders trying to get some exposure. Maybe I'm a curmudgeon but it occurred to me that most of them were doomed. How many more overbuilt, expensive Marshall clones with some minor twist will the market bear? I wish them all the best of luck because I harbor fantasies of joining their ranks at some point but it doesn't look easy to find a workable niche.
But for me the show was a total success because I got a free amp chassis! They were holding a giveaway/drawing at the end of the show of donated merchandise and I snagged a prepunched 18-watt chassis. Woop!

Is there ANY word on ANY future shows? Nothing on the AmpShow website. Any idea what the cost was to the exhibitors?

From other sources it would appear that the next one will be in NY/NJ in June 2015. http://ampshow.fanbridge.com/fan_questi ... 1228585478
