Dumble SSS Silver Alligator Snakeskin

I went through some older threads and had some basic questions. Is the "silver alligator" sss that people refer to, the same as the one that's covered in a snakeskin:

Also, I perused the "dumbleland (was SSS)" thread and saw the schematic for the preamp, but was wondering if there was a full, final version schematic? I'm not a tech person myself but have always been intrigued with the EF86 tube after playing some great sounding EF86 fronted amps (albeit all were El84 based).

The"silver alligator "one off" amp commonly referred to as the "Pentode Amp" (EF-86)It has nothing to do with an SSS .The Pentode amp had one of it's 86's wired as a triode and sported Music man Iron and ran the plates @ 700V DC..
This made it very touch sensitive and those who have played the amp have told me it's by far the best sounding clean amplifier they have experienced!!
Do a U-Tube search for Feelin bad blues (Crossroads soundtrack) and hear Ry Cooder drag his slide across each string.

Cool, yeah I gathered from the threads, that it wasn't a SSS, or even if it was labeled as such, sure wasn't on the inside. Not techy myself, but wondering if I could find something that a local custom builder could use.
