Phones

Post by ampdoc1 »

I'm just old and cranky!!! Don't want a phone that's a computer or a bunch of crappy apps to turn it into a computer. I've got a $30 per month Virgin Mobile account with a $16 Samsung phone. Not fancy, but has reception about as good as any.

For personal use I have switched to Old Age Pensioner cell phones.
No gimmicks and they look nice and fuggly like me.

For work I have to use an i-phone.
I seem to send 60% of calls into nirvana when the touch screen touches my ear. May be I'm not supposed to use it that way?

Silly People. Phones are not for talking to people! Talking to people is so 20th century. Phones are for text messaging and posting on facebook every time you pop a pimple or have a bowel movement.
What?

At least go hands-free when driving. Call this guy. He'll hook you up. Cheap.

I'm with ya. I have the same phone and the same VM plan. VM uses Sprint's network and coverage ain't the best, but it's good enough for me.

I used to be on VM. Resisted getting a smartphone until prices came down to something semi-reasonable.

T-mobile has a $30/mo plan (online or I think through Walmart only; you can't sign up for it at T-mobile stores), and you can get a new Nokia 635 phone for $129. It's a Windows 8.1 phone, well-reviewed, only notably lacking a flash for the camera.

I get being curmudgeonly etc., but there are an awful lot of ways that having maps, Web, email, access to Office documents , etc. in your pocket can prevent problems and make life easier.

My family is on Metro Pcs. 4 phones with unlimited talk text and web for $120/month flat. And the service is good. Only down side is you have to buy the phones outright. Lately they have free phones though.
