Which Schem/Layout for the funk chassis?
So which schematic and layout match the ODS special chassis by Funkalicious groove?

Gosh, I think about any of them. It's not about architecture but values. I think I see a little piggy back HRM board there so I'm thinking that the main board is set up for Hybrid A with snubbers, or HRM. Bluesmaster just changes the tone stack. It ain't a heathkit.bnwitt wrote:So which schematic and layout match the ODS special chassis by Funkalicious groove?

Is there a list of exactly what all these different build names mean somewhere or could we come up with one? It can be a little overwhelming for a newbie and I don't think that you could even track them all down one at a time.

Just hang in there and read every post in Dumble discussion as it comes up. Start with a Hybrid A schematic and start buying materials. Decide 50 or 100 watt, (nobody around here needs 100) read, read, read, and ask questions. Use the search. There's a whole huge thread on the bluesmaster going right now. HRM is the current rage but lots of folks are happy with their hybrid A builds. Morph them. They change. You're not locked in. You can make one into another. Look up all the recent posts by Novosibir. He recently started a neat glossery that I think should be made sticky. You won't be a newbie for long.Anaconda1126 wrote:Is there a list of exactly what all these different build names mean somewhere or could we come up with one? Definitly a 50 (or Brownote 35) is easier as a first build.skyboltone wrote: Decide 50 or 100 watt, (nobody around here needs 100)

I would have been singing in your choir about nobody needing a 100 watter until I spent some time playing a couple. They turn down just fine and even at low levels you benefit from that extra headroom. You get addicted and It's very hard to go back.

If the boards are the same as the previous offering, the main board (the eylet one) is laid out for non-HRM which means if you use the HRM daughterboard its also laid out for HRM. You will have 1 or 2 empty eylet holes if you choose to go HRM (where the non-HRM .005 would go). The support boards (filter, rectifier/bias, relay P/S and FET) would be the same for any style. The BM variation is also transparent to these boards.

In the real amps the layout is IDENTICAL for the preamp board, and the HRM board is a separate appendage that sits atop the "Goo" I did my stuff the same way.
I've built successful HRM and NON HRM amps in these chassis, other than component values there are very few differences in layout and topology.

Re: Which Schem/Layout for the funk chassis?
Couple quick questions:
1) Is it safe to assume that all of these variations (HRM / Non-HRM / Bluesmaster) have the Skyliner EQ?
2) How do you tell the difference between 80's & 90's EQ?
3) What is "Hybrid-A"?
4) I understand that if I wanted to do a 50w build w/ a 1/2 power switch, that would mean using 4 6v6's. Would these be the appropriate schematics & layout for that (with the addition of the 1/2 power switch changes)?

I messaged normster about this but haven't heard back.
5) What would the appropriate trannies for that be?

Re: Which Schem/Layout for the funk chassis?
That layout isn't for 4x6V6 - I wasn't able to open the .vsd file, so I don't know what's in there.
The layout is for 2-6v6, tube rectifier and reverb, which is very different from what the D'Lite turned out to be.
A 50W, 2x6L6 amp could use a triode/pentode switch to effectively reduce max power by about 40%.

Dynakits were great, too.bnwitt wrote:And that's a damned shame too.skyboltone wrote: It ain't a heathkit.I loved my Heathkits. Lots of good info fellows. Thanks.
