cord caught on somthing on the bench and caused the iron to get yanked out of my hand, with cat like reflexes I managed to catch it before it hit the floor.........d'oh ...nice grab dumb ass......
should there be sparks?

I had a couple of close encounters with the wrong end of the iron.........the classic "fell on the lap while soldering while wearing shorts" , asorted finger burns and the inevitable "flick of molten solder near the eye" thing.

dropped a soldering iron, and picked it up by the warm end. Had a nice burn across my palm for a few weeks.
done it all though. solder on top of legs, almost took out an eye, etc. fun stuff.

When I was soldering up an amp, I picked up the iron by the wrong end, and just kept squeezing it for a few seconds before I recognized that burning sensation.
The worst though, was that time I soldered in my underwear...Don't ask.

I'm sure I haven't seen my worst encounter with a soldering iron yet. I'll tell you this... my friend "Nurse Nasty" was a nice girl until she moved out West, now she's a leather clad whip-ass queen. I make sure my soldering iron is well hidden when she visits. She's a hotty and all, it's just I'm not so sure about her "hobby"...
