PI Cap

Post by toneman »

Dumb question . Third cap to the right in the PI, cain it be Polyester or Polypro and can it be 250 V. Metalized or not? Does it have any effect on sound? Years ago I tried a OD 716 not the thing to do!!!!Not much said about this cap. Just wondering :?

I wouldn't go as low as 250V on the PI, 400 at least, 600 better. As for the type, caps are cheep, just buy a bunch and try them. I like the Xicon MPP's or OD 6PS. HAD used a wide variety of caps in these locations. WIMA, NTE, OD715 that I've seen.

Why not? Every BF Fender I've ever seen has a 250v cap there, it's not getting any voltage except for the NFB.

I usually use a 400v 225p, but just because I have them at hand
