People were coming out of their houses, you could hear people all over the neighborhood yelling double rainbow.

The double rainbow, or that Cream song? I don't know the answer to either.

Yeah, seen it. He was probably in the same state of mind as Cream when they wrote that song.

I saw that driving home about an hour ago! Seemed to be popping out of the university area. Was not a fun drive home though..

BTW, in case I didn't mention it (to anyone other than Lefty), I moved to Seattle!

Yeah, the only thing that sucks about Seattle is traffic on I-5 (which nothing will cure), rainy winters (which beer and coffee cure), the Seattle freeze, and the fact people bitch about everything, even though we live in a beautiful place.

Welcome to Jet City, Cliff. :D

Sometimes switching over to 99 and the Viaduct can be faster. It was damaged by the last earthquake, but if your going north, you'll be on top of the people you crush in the next big one.

Unfortunately, a normal state of affairs everywhere it seems.

You're right. Be happy or move. But as the Buddha said, "No matter where you go, there you are."

Or for any Castaneda fans "We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.”

Or my favorite:

“A path is only a path, and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you . . . Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself alone, one question . . . Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't it is of no use.”

I've spent some quality time in and around Seattle and I like it a lot. Even stood on the top of that big ice cream sundae you can see to the south by southeast on a clear day.

Don Juan (Castaneda) talked of "places of power". So choosing where to live/be (or which path to be on) shouldn't be an arbitrary act, or merely a matter of adjusting ones' attitude. Places of power have an energy of their own, which influences us; we should not turn a blind eye to that.

Martin, you've been to the top of Rainier? Tell me more.

Also good to see other readers of Castaneda. His books have had a huge influence on my life.
