I have a maz jr NR that I love but want something a little more touch sensitive. I love everything dr z makes. But I simply cannot, and won't be able to any time soon, afford a Z Wreck.
Are there any options? I like using my amp as my main dirt, and the maz does it wonderfully. The only problem is no matter how lightly I play. It still stays pretty dirty. I have watched enough demos to see the z wreck has this kind of touch sensitivity. Any amp builders in or around michigan that may be able to make something? Preferably for less money than a Z wreck?
Thanks!

Re: Amp suggestion
Try a 12ay7 in v1. Or you can reduce the plate load resistor to 50k or even 47k. It's a parallel triode .
Re: Amp suggestion
Damn debug mode double post
Re: Amp suggestion
See I have tried a 12ay7 tube and it doesn't have enough gain it it. The goal would be to have the same crunch with more touch.
Re: Amp suggestion
5751 maybe? Or the plate resistor. You can also try the lower gain tubes in v2 or v3. That might get the early crunch with more clean headroom.
Re: Amp suggestion
What about a kit or fully assembled Rocket from.Ceriatone?
There are a few subtle.differences in the circuit but that would get you in the ballpark.

I'll give it a try. I was really looking more for a new amp suggestion as I love my maz for what it is. It would be nice to add something for versatility.billyz wrote:5751 maybe? That may be an option I will have to listen to some demos. Was the z wreck built most to resemble a rocket?evh0u812 wrote:What about a kit or fully assembled Rocket from.Ceriatone?
