Not much good to me unless you go Euro. 500 million people! (I know, they don't all build amps) but maybe you can contact the below and get them to distribute/retail you??? Please.

There is indeed a niche for seriously good iron over here now that Ingo Gorges has closed shop. At least we still have Sowter.

Sowter - I dream of a hifi made with their iron, I'd like to make just a simple little pair of Williamsons but Lordy they's expensive. I sure wish the USD would become real money again, not that I have any left.

When I get motivated I'm going to email a note to those Euroland retailers I mentioned about carrying MC transformers. Someone could make a lot of money here. Maybe they just don't know??? You other Europeans email them about it too.

Lou, I went through the same thoughts a while back. I knew they were often machine wound but couldn't think of how. Search Youtube for torroidal transformer winding machine to see one in action (sorry, don't have a link for ya). Amazing, and really cool to see how they work.

Zippy, I guess I was looking to read the final chapter from Rocking. After reading the 7 pages I was left hanging

Yeah, it was a drive by, he's left the 'hood.

If you need trannies, I put my trust in RJ Guitars. He's done the work that Rockin' was hoping to get for free and turn to profit.

RJ is the easy and obvious answer around here. I really appreciate all he has been doing for us on this forum.

On the other hand, I also see it as encouraging that a transformer company is acknowledging the existence of audio and tube amps as a real market. I like to think that tube amps are going strong, but we got to admit that when it comes to the electronics world, us tube guys are rarely even an after-thought.
I think that it is great that Pacific (and hopefully more) companies will make their products more accessible, or develop products for us. I know we have all suffered numerous frustrations with finding quality components, only to have them disappear. How many capacitor scares have we had lately, thinking that we will no longer be able to order what we narrowed down to be our favourites? We don't seem to be a big enough market to cause much of a splash with many manufacturers. I think that we are significant enough to make it worth the while of any company that tries to accomodate us with a good, informative website and decent prices...
but apparently not big enough to bring back high quality mass produced tubes. Will our grandchildren ever get to see a vacuum tube? :( :(

Oh, yes. I am planning to leave behind enough amps and tubes for many generations of descendents.

I quit receiving email notifications from this thread without unchecking anything...hmmmmm weeeeeeeird

-Our lot of Express and Liverpool irons come out this week. These are the parts Ken Fischer had us make for him that copied the Stancor A-3801, but 'trimmed the fat'

-We are developing Wreck power transformers for the euro/australian market this week.

No, Rocking Class has NOT ditched the neighborhood.

We're just busy as all-explosive shit, over here.
