Weller WPS18MP High-Performance Soldering Iron - piece of crap. The push on tip unit gets hot and expands and FALLS OFF. Needs to come with a free roll of duct tape.

Contact Weller directly. They may be willing to make some accommodation. AFAIK, Weller makes good soldering irons. OTOH, what did you expect at this price point?

I have had two WES51 for several years. After a few years they get intermittent sometimes, the LED shuts off and so does the heating. If I pick up the iron and wave it around a bit it starts operating again.

Maybe loose connection developing? I haven't really checked them out for that. Maybe I should.

Other than that, no problems at all.
