Ayron Jones and the Way opened. They just finished. They were really good.

Let us know if he has the worlds greatest soprano sax player with him this tour. When I saw him a couple of years ago I was flat stunned. Nobody's that good on that wicked horn.

Must be the same guy. He was outstanding.

Here's the crazy part. My daughter wanted to wait for him to board his tour bus to get his autograph. He invited us on his tour bus. He liked the fact that I saw him when I was seventeen, and now bringing my seventeen year old daughter to see him. Such a nice guy. My daughter is thrilled.

He signed a nice poster for her.

Great night for this dad.

It's been far too many years (er...decades) since I last saw BB. I am so glad you two had an awesome time AND got to meet and hang with The Maestro!

That's great - specially when the big guy takes the time to meet peeps.
You're daughter has a great memory to pass down.
I'm well pleased for you bud.
Saw BB a few years ago with Jeff Beck.

That is awesome in so many ways not the least of which is a teenager digging BB. I've seen him at least 6 times that I recall. Different settings, alone, with Buddy Guy and at blues festivals many years ago. He can't get after it liked he used to but I would like to see any of us approaching 90 "touring" and see what we look like.

Yeah, the concert I saw back in 76 or so, he was on fire. The crowd was so into it, it reminded me of "Live at the Regal."

He's not quite got that fire now, but he's still the showman. He had the entire audience singing "You are my Sunshine" at one point. I'm pretty sure no one left disappointed.

I still don't understand how he gets those tones from a solid state amp. Has anyone played one of those Lab Series amps?

^ I've always wished that he would get together with some real tube amp cork sniffing tone snob of a producer and make a record that really focused on the guitar sound. Who knows, maybe it would end up sounding 99% the same as him playing through that Lab Series thing.

Hard to believe that the guy is still on the road at his age.

When I saw him a couple of years ago he was using a rental Twin Reverb. I know nothing! about these what? Lab what? Sounds like some sort of a Newfi thing.

I saw him two weeks after he returned from touring the Soviet Union. He and the band were red hot.

Saw him again about 15 years ago. The band was excellent. He sat during the performance, had slowed down considerably (compared to the 1st show I saw) and talked a lot more. He was still great.

I have a photo of his tour bus, taken in route on the New York State thruway, as he was heading to Syracuse for the show.

You got me with the SS amp. But, same with Albert King. I guess when they started it was toob shmoob, they were just happy to have an amp as they were as broke as you get. Then like all old blues guys, they wouldn't change.

Last time I saw himmaybe 3-4 years ago I think I was too far in the balcony to get a good shot of the amp, that and my bad eyes.

Seattle usually has a pretty reserved crowd. We're all a bunch of socially inept geeks. But BB had the entire crowd singing at the top of their lungs "You are My Sunshine." Even my daughter was singing.

My grandmother told me she was swayed to marry my grandfather after he sang that song on his knee to her. I never got to meet him, he died in WWII in the Navy.

I leaned over and told her that during the song. What a magical night to share with my daughter.

And BB King is such a gracious and funny man in person. A person any of us would enjoy hanging out with. Down home and real. Not a pretentious bone in his body.
