My condolences at the loss of your friend.

Your project will mean a lot to your grandchildren, just knowing it came from you, especially as they get older.

I'm planning a similar thing for this year, building a SE amp for my brother and 3 friends, each of whom has supported me in learning to build amps. My brother has a stable of great amps, but having one built by me for his home use would be huge. We're identical twins, and band mates off and on since about 6th grade. Partners in insanity. One other is the lead guitarist from my last band, and my hand surgeon who's had 4 cracks so far at my hands, and I'm still playing. Thanks, Sheldon.

Thanks everyone really appreciate the posts.

I built TW amps for my kids and they really enjoy having a papa built unit.

I want to build more amps from junked out audio parts from clean up day and donations. So far I have a bunch of parts. Going to get a brake to bend up some chassis and a metal sheer to cut the metal cleanly. Harbor Freight cheapy should work just fine.

My bucket list of amps is building up, after I finish this 5B6 I swear I'll get on it.

Thanks David, all we can do is keep at it.

Haven't done any amp building in 3 days.

Day 1 felt like crap sat with my dog all day, we enjoyed each other's company.

Day 2 picked up my 2 grand daughters from daycare and we had lunch, coloring books, toys and foolishness (I'm good at that last part).

Day 3 daughter picked me up and we went tire shopping for her Tahoe and had lunch.

Life gets in the way of amp building but I won't have it any other way.

Mark sorry to hear you lost your buddy it's hard and i feel for you,,, I have a nice finger brake and squaring shear my shear can cut 30 inchs width and is by far my fav tool it works great for cutting my garolite and alum or mild steel,, I would'nt recommend a cheapy though search out craigslist and machine supply houses and get a older one mines @ least 350lbs i paid 200$ for it it's a plexo, my brake is heavyduty also it close to 400lbs my best friend works for the high school it was left over from machine shop class so i got it free, also got left overs from closed electronics class if you need chassis let me know mark

Thank you and have been keeping my eyes open for equipment but most was really expensive industrial stuff I didn't want that big of an investment.

Cheaper to hire out.
