hey i had never heard that one!!

roads of ice sounds about right to me!

my favorite local maine song is the stupid theme song to Webbs Rv Centah,

ala Johnny Cash: They've Got The Sharpest Pencil in Town

there isnt a video for it on youtube for some reason! here are the lyrics from my memory though

they've got the sharpest pencil in town
and they just sit around that show room, figurin deals
and whittlin that oooold pencil doooown
they know that if you buy once, yer gonna be back
so instead of buyin one, yer buyin two and thats a fact
they've got the sharpest pencil in town
so come on down neighbah, the cawffee pots on

this song was so stupid and prevalent growing up, tv and radio ads non freakin stop. who buys two RVs? thats a FACT? how old is the coffee? what does it mean that you have a sharp pencil? i need answers

Yeah I came close to doing that a few times.
Best to turn a bit and cross the tracks at close to 90 degrees if you can.

In Portland they have what is called "The Steel Bridge"

It has a steel grid deck on it and when you ride your motorcycle across it, it feels like you have a flat tire.
Like on grooved pavement.

Hope you heal up fast.

My broken ribs sympathize with you. :(
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

only good news today!!

i had my othopedic appointment today, finally some really good news!!

turns out, i have just about the most minor break ever. as my ankle tendons were stretched to the max a small piece of bone separated, instead of tearing the tendon. then it magically found its little way back to where it grew up

no cast, only a boot which is freakin sweet. i can even walk around without crutches!! things are looking up!! :D

it is still a really bad sprain, but coulda been alot worse!

The Bill Kirchen version is the only one I've heard but the original recording was Dick Curless, and I bet that's good too. Gots no links sorry. I'll have to leave it as an exercise for the interested listener. Never get tired of Kirchen's guitar licks. Download both & have 2 mementos of the down-east up-country.

No, I don't know any lobster-fishin' songs.
down technical blind alleys . . .
