I kind of wondered the same thing.

I get confused between Mike Bloomfield and the Paul Butterfield Band which Mike Bloomfield also played in.

His playing never knocked me out, but he was pretty good. He was probably the best of the white Chicago blues guitarists from the 1960s. His playing was strongly influenced by Otis Rush, who stands head and shoulders above him as a player. Mike Bloomfield came to a bad ending in his career from drugs etc. He wound up recording guitar tracks on porn flicks before his death. I guess he really believed in that "sex and drugs and rock'n roll".
