Airbrake as a load

Hello,
Can the Airbrake be used as a load with no speaker attached. I was thinking
of modding it and add a line out to be able to use the amp late at night.

i was trying to find out what values to use for the line out; is it a 47K in series and a 1K shunt to ground ?

I've used those values on my TWs to drive the wet side of a wet dry rig. I'm not sure if the air brake will work as a load in stock form. I do know a THD hot plate has a load setting. That said I've tried load setups and reamping before but the one issue was the attenuators (used as a load) can sometime have a fizzy effect on the sound much like when one sets an attenuator at very low levels. Still it is worth some experimentation!

I have been looking at something similar lately. I want to use an 8 ohm load in place of the speaker and then tap a line out off of that. I've read all kinds of reports that vary from it will sound awful to it is studio worthy... I've decided to try it for myself. I dug around and found a couple ideas for making a line out from a speaker tap. I plan to first create it as a external box and if it shows promise then maybe include it as integrated part of an amp. I would also like to have a 2nd tap for headphones... seems like WEBER has already done this and their schematic is posted on line. My own version will begin as a much simpler circuit. Here's a commercial example of a built-in attenuator in a 2x 6V6 amp where the main load is a 25W aluminum-housed resistor. The speaker can be plugged into the headphone jack for low volume playing, but it does not sound as good that way.

i tried the different values it all works more or less but i get a ground loop hum, so i'm going to try a transformer next.

i tried the ones you listed and they worked but i was getting some ground hum.
