Does anybody have any experience with the Ceriatone 36 watt Marshall style amp with the Vox-style ef 86 channel ?

No never built that one or any other versions but I think on 18watt.com forum there are lots of examples and experiences with this circuit.

I've built it, its a great amp the thing about the 36watt marshall is you would think it would be alot louder than a 18 watt but there not, they are more powerful and maybe push more air and have more thump, but after building a few 36watters ive found a 18watter will do the same thing volume wise, I've had a 36watt heyboer from GDS Power transformer sitting on the shelf for a few years now because i just don't wanna build anouther 36watt, but the ef86 is awsome, the whole amp is sweet but to do it again i'd just do it with a pair of el84 not a quad, If im gonna do a 4 hole el84 amp i'd do a liverpool it does 4 el84 just right somehow the liverpool is a lot louder than a 18watt :? but this is a very subjective thing some guys like the 36 but for me 18watts is better. mark
