Folks think that climate change is something that happens gradually but I think once things get to a tipping point it happens rapidly.or something

We are in the middle of an ice age right now. Interglaciation is what you are looking for.
CO2 levels were more than 3x now in the middle of the permian-triasic.
People haven't been recording long enough to know that this is only a frame from the millions of frames that make up the movie of time. We are all very wrong. Earth is normally inhospitable, the average being temps well above what we have now.
It takes 10k years to enter an ice age and 100k years to exit. The longest duration we know so far is the one around 230M years ago that turned the southern hemisphere into a virtual Pluto.
When you say you want less air polutants, I agree. When you say at any cost I disagree. When you try and charge me money so you can end polution I laugh at you and keep my hand on my sidearm because you are a dangerous motherfucker.
I never feel good about typing that word. Shouldn't it be hyphenated? Contractions and stuff.. I am not sure.

Well there is no arguing that the article ice cap nearly disengrated then 90% of it returned in a year who's to say it won't grow that much in another year .ocean currents control the worlds climates you shut off the gulf stream and boom england is an iceburg just like that.
Massive amounts of cold fresh water fuck up the ocean currents.
Huge volcanic eruption blocks out the sun for a year boom we are all frozen and starving just like that.
I guess pollution is like millions of tiny volcanoes going of all at once and once it reaches a tipping point things change rapidly.
I agree that people don't no what they are talking about they miss the big picture.everyone thinks I've got PhDs my parents spent millions putting me through school I must be right.

Trends say it won't. Trends also say that the politics are here to stay on both sides.
When cooling didn't scare, warming worked. When that wore off it became global climate change. We are all wrong. We aren't positive of now, much less the past, and much much much less the future but you'll really only hear my kind of crazy talk coming out of the UK among the same scientist that have scoured the data and agree that we are in a warming trend.
We are beaten for billions to fund impossible energy schemes while living in a closed system along side China and India. We had our industrial revolution. We have no right to stand in the way of their's.
Too many people.

Tell that to the acres of Solar Voltaic Cells in CA and NV.
My father-in-law who is much smarter than me because he worked for NASA for 32 years, says this about the Solar Cells:
They are a dark color therefore they absorb a lot of heat energy and also reflect a lot of the energy back into the atmosphere.
Let's not even get into the wind mills that populate the land.
From no wind/ no energy to low frequency oscillations that seems to affect humans.
Yet "they" describe this kind of energy as green..........
The only green energy that was ever invented is Hydro Power from dams.
Look I've been on the damn tours, the damn lectures and the damn power that powers my home.
Yet the tree hugger's say hydro power is not renewable energy because the damn fish can't migrate.
Well, they specifically build fish ladders to accommodate the damn fish, if they are too stupid to go up a ladder
then maybe Darwin's theory of selection is not to far off the mark.

Trends lol
We do no there was less ice than we ever known then boom its back .I'd call that a pretty rapid change.
No I don't listen to sciencetist or al gore .I just know what my mind tells me.
Also in Antarctica there is a huge difference between the land ice that is however many thousands of years of snow being compacted and sea ice which can change rapidly.
I just don't see how we can dig however many billions of gallons out of the ground and burn it then be all like that won't effect nothin.
We used to think we could just cut trees down as fast as we can and never run out.now we got folks say in why there's more trees now than 100 years ago.well a hundred years ago every fucking tree around here had been clearcut .now its juvenile forest that will never mature before its cut again.the harbor is cleaner now than it was 50 years ago well 50 years ago we were dumping raw sewage in it.on and on people that are smart with words can make anything sound plauseable

Re: BRRRRRRRR it's cold today
Don't even get me started on damn dams they dammed all the rivers round here and ruined on of the most beatiful places on earth .you'd think with all these dams that's where all our power would come from but only a very small percentage comes from hydro.I don't see how destroying entire ecosystems can be green.Structo wrote:

The only free energy is changes in barometric pressure our smart folks ain't smart enough to figure it out yet .

Need trees to build a navy. Can't have an empire without expanding your empire. Can't have anything anyhow.

All I know is it takes a whole lot of trees to make the wind blow.

This silliness started between the Spanish and the British. Before that it was pretty much suck to lose, but now it's a beautification project for the third-world.
I don't pay for shit I break if I am kicking your ass. I'm going to break stuff too, be warned. That is the deterent.
The onion (of course) had a fantastic story in 2001 about how congress had appropriated $450B for a works project to build stuctures in Caveganistan so we could destroy their infrastructure.
