Jeff I would give them a chance, I mean the TC75A's!!

I know CDE work fine and actually besides Mallory that one would be the only other filter cap that I would use. My second express has CDE (40uF's) and TC75 (20 uF's).
My first express had F&T's and although that amp sounds great is alittle bit edgier!! My second one is bluesier and with more headroom but also rounder and warmer, smoother some would say!! ;)

This amp is up and running as of tonight.
I have to say it is one great sounding amp right from the start. The harmonics and overtones are real nice on this one. She gets real mean but not harsh, and she cleans up nice too. Better with a Strat I am sure.
Used Westinghouse British 6ca7's in this build with 2 Tungsram 12ax7's and a Grove Tube 12ax7 PI. 280v outputs on Pacific pt. Voltage measured 608 Vac.
B1-409v, B2-396v, B3-309v, B4-290v, B5-273v. Bias at 38ma per tube.
Bias voltage -32vdc. Played with Les Paul Custom, Maybe tomorrow I can try the Strat or Tele to see what they sound like. Very Happy with the TW Brown Sound so far. Stayed with the CDE 20uf caps in this build, next build I will try the Mallory tc75a's. :)

Told you t'wont work.
Obviously you tried to make it ugly by using rodent droppings.
Unfortunately it's beautiful.
And I'd bet my last dollar it sounds killer
Not that I'm jealous.
No.
Well Done Jeff.

Well Bob I have been polishing this thing for a few days now.
I am starting to doubt what they say about you can't polish a (in this case "rodent droppings"). :) Seems to shine up kind of nice. Don't always believe what they try to tell you, I think you were right.

I named this one CTA Express, Not quite finished yet, but close. :)

Ok the build is done. Finished it up tonight. :)
Funny looking at the pictures I just noticed the output tubes bottles are different heights? Everything else looks the same. :?
