Marshall owners needed - Early PCB based models
Hi,
I need the dimensions of Marshall's early PCB
Specially PCB marked as ST1 iss.202, but other early ones and these before Marshall started to use PCB mounted pots will do
Thanks

Board is 297 x 80 x 1.5mm. You can see my cathode bypass mod in the first photo.

Oh man, too cool, seriously thank you. Now I will do some magic with it in DIYLC, if I will have some question may I PM you?
Cheers

Sure. Note I have removed bright caps C4 and C5 shown in attached schematic. And changed R5 to 22K...um, no idea why I did that. May return it to 470K. But amp sounds damn finely.torg wrote:May I PM you?

When I finish doing what I'm doing you will be able to mod the shit outta it on new replica PCB. I can do custom PNP for you as well with onboard mods of your choice - I owe you after all

Nice pics, xtian... excellent documentation for this amp!
Re: Marshall owners needed - Early PCB based models
Great picts indeed
Marshall turretboard era amps are quite well documented, not much replica layouts for PCB era amps... Well, at least until soon
Work in progress

Re: Marshall owners needed - Early PCB based models
Very good timing I just had a conversation with Colossal about Marshall PCB's and that no one has them available that I know of.

Re: Marshall owners needed - Early PCB based models
I would be up for providing a Marshall style PCB which allows for standard Marshall builds, but also added functionality so guys could add additional gain stages, mods, etc, but I would not do it as a clone of the original ST1 style boards. If enough people were interested, it would bring the cost of the board down to make it viable.

I'm with you Colossal Dave.
Re: Marshall owners needed - Early PCB based models
I'm in. I'd love a 2203/4 pcb board, actually googled around but there are none anywhere. Made the same for box caps like Wimas hopefully, wanna use sozo go elsewherestorg wrote:Group buy?
BTW doubt you'd retire on it but I'd bet you'd make yourself some extra xmas money on ebay.
Re: Marshall owners needed - Early PCB based models
Thanks RP, but I don't think it will be finished before X-mass. Also I don't want to make living from PCB trading/manufacturing/design - although is would be quite cool, but I may get around 10 pcs made. If they won't sell, I will make good use of them anyway one day
The progress is slow, lack of time, lot's of shitstorms at work and in my social life, but I think I should have it done before the end of January. Of course all files will be published here, and you and others always can make your own, but little sell will only inspire me to do more projects in future and do them more often
Anyway, preview attached. PNP will come in set with full amp layout and matched schematics (component values & numbers)
Cheers for now
