New Rocket Up

Post by njwrecks »

Once again many thanks to RJ the main man
Using EDCOR 270-270 PT 250ma and Dynaco A-470-S
added some Koa Speer carbon film - they are the green ones - Mallory 150's...burned in on variac.. will get some sound clips soon. I see my camera is not that good...sounds good from the start...used 5 carbon comps also. 3 F&T 30's and 3 F & T 22's. Moved Mid resistor from 10K to 11.5K. this seems to lessen the bass. Also I find that carbon comp warms up the tone in this spot. I basically use carbon comp to warm up the sound. I found that too many in the pre amp made it muddy...Vishay 3w metal oxide on the power caps - at least I think that's what I ordered...

Awesome dude!! I love the personal touches and especially appreciate you sharing the resistor flavoring that you've developed. Can't wait for the sound clips and especially those videos of the Jersey music scene. Congrats, you are becoming a regular "Rocket Wizard"!
