Yes, lots of articles online can be found by Googling "Chinese ownership GM" or similar. Here's a WSJ piece:

So what are we gonna do about it?
Re: I cant believe this,GM is now China
China has been buying up U.S. land, steel mills, copper and other metals.
Wood harvested by Japan and the list goes on.

Every generation, we have new "investors" in U.S. assets: 30 years ago it was the Japanese and especially the British; now it's the Chinese. GM's deal with SAIC goes back to the '90s, so it isn't exactly news. And the largest automotive market in the world is now China, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that the industry is active there. What scares me is that the Chinese are awfully good at this. We, on the other hand, can't seem to find our ass with both hands.

(Most of) the American 99% can find their asses, actually so can the American 1%, problem is the 1% moved their asses (assets) to China. I wonder whether they intend to export those cars to the U.S. or if it is intended to feed the need for "American" cars for the growing middle class in China that want to affect the "American" lifestyle.
I heard a report some months ago, that the fad was to buy a big black Buick and part it in the driveway (regardless of whether you had room in the garage) so you could show off to the neighbors.

They still owe us money, lots. There is no money here. Let them go make money so they can sell us the stuff that is already made in China (btw) and afford to pay back the not a bailout.
Yeah. You love your government. Nothing but genius.

I thought GM was going to kill the division till it somehow went fad in China. Can you presently buy a Buick in the USA? Are there still Buick dealers? If so can you get the red silk and black lacquer interior option?Zippy wrote:I wonder whether they intend to export those cars to the U.S. or if it is intended to feed the need for "American" cars for the growing middle class in China that want to affect the "American" lifestyle.

I disagree with this statement wholeheartedly. We know exactly where our asses are....that is where our heads currently reside!Firestorm wrote:Every generation, we have new "investors" in U.S. assets: 30 years ago it was the Japanese and especially the British; now it's the Chinese.
