Adam,
Yes very descriptive indeed.
Ken's sister Mona told me it was a great sounding amp, hopefully I can make it happen.
Perhaps octal version too

I am soooo curious about experimenting with octal preamps, as I have zero experience with them....in all my travels, I haven't even seen an octal-pre guitar amplifier, let alone play one. With others describing them as fat and chimey, my interest is piqued!
Mark, on the transformer set...just browsed at the specs on the Edcor site, it looks like a standard set of Rocket transformers would be fine? I ask because I have a set of Allyn's Pacific versions on the shelf right now that need a home soon, and the Songwriter 30 soundclips on Komet's site are starting to make me drool!
Best wishes to you and your family,
Adam

From what I can tell the Rocket transformer specs would work very well.

Nice job Mark! Great to see you building amps and sharing the experience with us.
Isn't the Song Writer just the "other" (non-top boost) channel from a Vox AC-30? If I have that correct then the Rocket iron should be ideal? Does anybody know?

Bob, yeah I was going to just order some iron from you but that was when you were having troubles so I got some from Edcor instead.
A470 4k OT will work very nice and keep voltage low I thing on the PT with 280-0-280.
I've had this stuff sitting around for a while and finally decided enough is enough get going on it.

Not like you're gonna zap yourself, but good job on not wiring the B+ backwards like Komet did. Oops.

Mark, clever use of a binder clip. Going to have to steal that one!

Yeah I'm full of tricks.
I'm thinking of going with wireless output too.

Looks good!
So what's different about the tonestack baxandall??
The treble almost looks like a cut control?

Treble control is definitely a treble cut control called tone control on a lot of amps that use this.
Bass volume is unusual but not unlike what some have used on 18w Marshall variants on 18watt.com
