USPS suck

Post by Reeltarded »

USPS has misdelivered the last package from me, ever.

I am sick of the confusion and losing my money and time. Fuck the USPS.

So pissed off. Like 5 of 6 packages. International is not easy. What's it gonna be this time? 6 months? A year? Never?

Never again.

I concur.

I recently was tracking a package originating from Washington State. It spent time bouncing around cross-country on a truck to Warrendale / Pittsburg PA. Instead of continuing northeast ...... it then went to Atlanta. And then Memphis. And then back to Warrendale / Pittsburg. Eventually it arrived two weeks past the "expected" delivery time. And it arrived damaged. An old Slingerland 10-lug COB (chrome on brass) Niles badged (Made in USA) snare. Dimpled and bent on four sides. Still functional but not the pristine specimen I paid a premium for. Yes, it was poorly packed. No excuse for that. Still, $35 shipping charge (not counting the additional $6 Billion of taxpayer money they loose each year) to arrive late and damaged? That has never happened with UPS or FedEx. Not happy.

Yeah, but I am a violent asshole.

Remember thet terrible movie "who's killing the great chefs of europe"? One of them is force fed poodles with a big pastry bag.

I have an idea.

I will take USPS over UPS too. But understand that their tracking system is bullshit. You used to have to pay for tracking, which I did once. That was enough. UPS has managed to mangle almost everything that gets shipped to me through them. Claims are never paid. FedEx is the most reliable, but also the most expensive.

Now, let's not propagate myths. The USPS is completely self funded. No tax payer dollars are used to fund any of their operations.

This link also claims the USPS receives no public funding.

http://www.carper.senate.gov/public/ind ... s-vs-facts

But if that is true, how are the operating losses covered? Who/what pays for the shortfalls?

It'll be hard to convince me that whenever any branch of the government losses anything (money, hard-drives with plans for particle-beam weapons, etc) that it isn't the taxpayers that pick up the tab ..... someone has to. Even if the fed fires up the presses and rolls out billions more of currency, we the taxpayers end up with the devalued retirement portfolios and runaway inflation .... we end up paying for it.

I like the priority boxes.
Haven't really had any issues although I know it's possible given the performance record of this government.

If I can't get it Amazon Prime, I usually can resist the temptation.

Congress sets the charter. That is why a postal cmmmmtteeee goes to war with them at the end of every postal budget year and you hear about postage hikes in the news and how they are cutting back to wednesday at 2:31pm delivery only.

Yeah, the postal administration also complains mightily that Congress forces them to set aside funding for the retirement packages they pledged to their employees; and that they pay as they go (like the rest of America, except for the rest of the government, naturally). They say they'd be turning a profit if that little detail could just be ignored. Brilliant.

I once discovered a client operating unit had deliberately understated their expenses (auditor for 25+ years). I asked why. The line manager replied "If we had reported those expenses, we would have lost money."

True story.
