Blues Deluxe Bright Switch and Reverb Issue

Post by cronkster »

Hi folks, first post here. I know very little about electronics, but I've always been interested in tube amps and my Blues Deluxe Reissue has developed a problem that compels me to reach out for ideas. The bright switch has stopped working (the amp remains in the normal state when the bright switch is depressed) and the reverb no longer works. I believe the two problems occurred simultaneously so I'm looking for a specific component to blame. The reverb tank seems alright, by the way. No broken wires and absolutely no noise from it when the springs are bounced around. To my inexperienced eye, neither the pcb board nor the schematic reveals anything. Everything looks nice on the board. Do any of you experts with knowledge of this circuit suspect anything in particular. Any ideas would be highly appreciated!

Sounds like the problem with the 16v switching power supply common to many Fender Deluxe models. Justin Holton used to have this info posted; having trouble finding it on Google. Others will chime in.

Thanks xtian! I'll do a little research on that and see what I can find.
