Thanks for the heads up on that one. I watched and enjoyed. Nothing much new to be had on Jimi, but I still enjoyed.
Re: PBS American Masters Jimi Hendrix tonite
What a relentless drive to be the best he could. The reoccurring comment through the show was his endless guitar playing, Jimi always had a guitar with him - no matter where he was.
His humbleness should be learned and practiced by many today.
Good show, even though we already knew the ending

My wife took me to the Grammy Theater in LA on October 30th to view this with 200 others. While I was there I got to talk to Eddie Kramer for a bit, get a picture taken with him, and get his signature on the program.
He's short...5ft 7in, but one hell of a nice guy.

I enjoyed it, but there was almost no part of that video that hasn't been released before. At least according to my bad memory. Much of that was taken from the making of ... series of DVDs.
I love the portions where Kramer is behind the console. I want to kick him out of that chair and play back there for a few days. Isolating every track and really studying how it all comes together. I would buy a video with more of that. They could even release the individual tracks so we could import them into our DAWs and have our own fun...and not just Hendrix. That's a business idea and revenue stream that is being completely missed out on. If I owned the masters, that would be happening.

I haven't watched TV at home since we moved last August, but I happened to catch this in a motel room. It was great. Lots of good stuff I hadn't seen before. Jimi is still my fave, and after all these years I am still floored by his approach to guitar playing. Incredible.
Don't you boys know any NICE songs?
Re: PBS American Masters Jimi Hendrix tonite
+1 to that! Would be educational. Good idea about releasing the tracks. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. Too much paranoia of plagiarism I would imagine.vibratoking wrote:I want to kick him out of that chair and play back there for a few days. Watched it online last night! Very nice indeed. Those isolated tracks were super cool.
